The only evidence for a cult in the Myerstown, Schaefferstown, and Richland areas engaging in Satanic Ritual Abuse is the recovered memories that were brought out through Thom Keller’s counseling. I encourage any member of Calvary, or any member of the community who has heard rumors of abuse, to stop and consider the real damage caused by gossip and hearsay. If any person reading this has any evidence of the claims made by Thom Keller against families in the community, I would encourage you to contact me, or your local law enforcement.
I apologize first and foremost to the members of Calvary Chapel Lebanon who were members when I had the final meeting with the church pastors. I should have pressed the issue further, and finished the reconciliation process by bringing this before the congregation. I am not an outspoken person, and have a hard time speaking up in front of others. I was made to feel extremely low, and didn’t know the best way to proceed without causing further harm to the families who were accused. I initially wrote the majority of this simply as a record, to exist always in case anyone else ever decided to look into this in future years. So that the legacy of at least three families would not be dictated by one man. Until November 2023, I have never sent this to any member of Calvary Chapel Lebanon.
In late 2023, I heard concerns about this situation again from a member of Calvary Chapel Lebanon and now, it is time to finally bring this secret out, and end the gossip and hearsay. There appears to still be real fear over this situation, and this story needs to end. I attempted to speak to the leadership at Calvary Chapel about how this was coming up again, in late 2023, but instead, I was denied a meeting, and instead was given a closed door meeting with Dan VanVleet, who simply reiterated the cult is real, I was a “loose cannon”, and I had no right to bring this up to the church. The next time Thom is telling someone about this, it needs to be with the accused families in the same room.
Here is a list of questions that anyone who attends Calvary must answer for themselves, or at least deserves to hear a clear answer from the leadership about. I was never allowed to bring this before the congregation, and am still unable to.
- Duane Miller is a former employee of Pennsylvania Counseling Services. His wife, Sherri Miller, works with a non-profit counseling organization to provide therapy services to the community. There is a serious breach of professional ethics in allowing this conspiracy of Satanic Ritual Abuse to fester and not be professionally investigated. Duane Miller is now the head pastor. Why has he not come forward and named the individuals involved in the rape and murder of children?
- Is Theophostics(TPM), acceptable? Are the concepts and biblical interpretations Ed Smith taught in the 1990’s-early 2000’s good and sound doctrine?
- Is it acceptable for any person, even a pastor, to engage in the area of recovered memories with no formal training or licensing? Thom “diagnosed” a woman with Multiple Personality Disorder, and then proceeded to cast demons out of her, apparently using Theophostics as a guide. This was done when he was not even a pastor. Declaring she got better, appears to have done nothing but blindly believe recovered memories, and even repeats claims of how multiple families and community members are generational satanists who rape and murder children. When I hear blanket claims that the police and “high ranking” members of the community are involved in this cult and the murder of children, I would appreciate Dan VanVleet, Thom Keller, and Duane Miller to list specific names.
- Thom Keller, while a pastor, believed there was a specific man, the generational satanist family aside, who was a “high priest”, who was directly involved in sex trafficking of children, the mutilation and rape of children, and their murder. Is it morally and ethically responsible to have done nothing? How can you defend your counseling, and your telling and retelling of this situation, and yet you did nothing, allegedly allowing abuse to continue? You think I am rebellious and “out of balance” for questioning you, and yet you allowed a violent pedophile to exist in the community, without even reporting to police. These accusations should not be whispered in the dark for years, but drug out into the light, and either be silenced or validated.
- Thom’s teachings on authority were originally taught by Bill Gothard. Is this interpretation of scripture good and sound doctrine? Or is it a dangerous teaching that can lead to abuse?
- After Thom is retired, will Duane and the leadership team bring Thom’s teachings to a new generation, beliefs about satanic ritual abuse in the community, and Thom’s teachings on authority?
- Since Thom made claims that I taught heresy and was in rebellion when I attended Calvary Chapel Lebanon, I would like him to bring up specifically in what I taught was heresy, and in what way did I exhibit rebellion in my lifetime membership of the church? Anyone who is interested can view the lessons I taught in Sunday School when I started trying to teach and engage kids beyond what a printed curriculum said. I did this with the full approval and permission of the Childrens Ministry Directors as the time, Somer Parker, and Ashley Durniak. All my lessons were sent to the childrens’ directors, whether they read through them or not.
